| Strengthening this historic commercial town
center, GreenbergFarrow is designing a modestly scaled, walkable,
mixed-use downtown while adding new homes and shops on the streets
behind existing buildings. Franklin Street will become Avondale’s
“Main Street”, a pedestrian-friendly place where
residents and visitors can shop, enjoy outdoor cafés
or simply stroll to an evening event. As one moves away from
the Tudor Village, other styles will be incorporated to give
the commercial district an eclectic feel similar to Avondale’s
residential district. Other improvements include a new city
park while future phases will develop more mixed-use buildings. |
